Palms are very heavy feeders. Newly planted palms need to be fertilized with Palm Fertilizer 7-3-7 as soon as the first fronds unfurl. Feed monthly, May through August, at a rate of one-pound per one-inch of trunk diameter. For older established palms, feed three times a year (March, June, and September) also at the rate of one-pound per one-inch of trunk diameter. the fall feeding is very important because it increases the palm's cold tolerance. Always fertilize at least eight to ten inches from the trunk and water after fertilizing. Available in four-pound, 10-pound, 20-pound, and 40-pound bags. |
